Marie Tang

Marie is a PAL author and general creator of “things.” Having a second start in life upon moving home to the United States from China—where she spent her 30s—Marie is far from understanding what adulting is and if she should participate.

Marie’s twelve-year-old toy poodle has yet to inspire an anamorphic story. Rather, her stories reflect her culture and her desire to encourage younger and older generations of Asian Americans to break down the barriers of communication and storytelling.

With a flurry of anecdotes floating around in her head, she hopes to write for more than just the picture book market. Her latest venture… novels! Marie is the author of Yuna’s Cardboard Castles and Baba’s Peach Tree and has three additional manuscripts in development with Disney Hyperion and Random House Studio.

In her free time… well, she doesn’t have much of that—but when she does, she enjoys cooking with her teenage daughter, thinking about bonsai trees, traveling around the world, and—of course—reading.
