Debra Goelz

Debra is a fugitive from Hollywood, where she spent 10 years working in finance for companies like Jim Henson Productions and Universal Studios. She once Muppeteered a chicken in the closing scene of Muppet Treasure Island, but, sadly, was never asked again.

Since the demise of her once-promising puppetry career, she has channeled all her creative energy into writing humorous, magical tales of female empowerment and epic kissing. Her novel Mermaids and the Vampires Who Love Them won a Watty Award and was subsequently published as an audiobook by Hachette Audio. Her short stories have appeared in several Simon & Schuster anthologies and in Mermaid Monthly Magazine.

Debra lives in a redwood forest in Northern California with her puppeteer husband and a thoroughly entertaining dog named Rocket. Her secret dream is to return to Hollywood, where all her books will be adapted into blockbuster films starring Chris Hemsworth.
