Jamie Rodarte (she/her) writes children's stories featuring underrepresented characters with humor and hope.

When not immersed in kidlit you can find Jamie planning ways to be more environmentally focused, researching her next plant-based meal, and supervising many slime experiments. The granddaughter of Mexican immigrants, first in her family to receive a bachelor’s degree (UCI), Latinx proud, and an animal lover; she lives in California with her family and many adored pets.

Jamie was a 2023 PB Rising Stars mentee and the founder of Picture Book Power Hour – a free, monthly workshop of writing-based exercises. You can also find Jamie working alongside Marisa Cleveland of The Seymour Agency as an agent mentee...and loving every minute of it!
