Sólveig Eva Magnúsdóttir

I am an award-winning Icelandic-American author-illustrator published in The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The L.A. Times, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Crucial Comix, The Boston Globe and beyond.

I am currently working on two graphic novels: "Pretty Privilege: My time as a model-caterer to the rich and famous, working alongside the almost rich and famous," which explores the wealth gap in America, the entertainment industry, and gray areas of violence, and "Space Mama Piggy," a whimsical and tender story about motherhood, failure and belonging, told through the misadventures of an anxious space pig.

I love exploring intimate relationships and the multiplicity of identity and belonging. My stories are often tender, homorous, wistful and whimsical, while aiming to ease the loneliness and isolation of difficult experiences.
