Ugo Anidi is mad about all things children’s books! She’s a lifelong reader (think all the volumes of Britannica and Shakespeare at age 11) and writer, (yup! she used to sell her stories to her classmates in 4th grade).
She’s a sucker for fried plantains, suya, and a good book with slices of magic and cups of history laced with 3 big teaspoons of mythology and a dash of mystery.😊 Add sprinkles of dry humour and you’ve made her day. She writes picture books, chapter books and middle grade. She hopes to create mirrors for Nigerian kids, at home and in the diaspora, and windows into life in Nigeria for children all over the world.
She’s the Regional Advisor for the Nigerian Chapter of SCBWI, a member of Julie Hedlund’s 12 x 12 community and an MFA Candidate in the Writing for Children and Young Adults Program at VCFA.
In her ‘other’ life, she is a lecturer in law and she plays a mean game of Scrabble. She shares her home in Lagos, Nigeria with her husband, three sons, 300 books and the characters in her head.
