Ronit Plank is a writer, teacher, and editor whose work has appeared in The Atlantic, Poets & Writers, The Rumpus, Salon, River Teeth's Beautiful Things, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and elsewhere, earning Best of the Net, Best Microfiction, and multiple Pushcart Prize nominations. Kirkus Reviews calls her debut memoir When She Comes Back “An intimate, intuitive, emotionally vivid family account that finds hope in reconciliation". When She Comes Backwas named a Book Riot Best True Crime Book, won a 2022 Book Excellence Award, and was named Finalist for memoir in the Housatonic Book Awards, Best Book Awards, and other indie awards. Ronit is also the author of the short story collection Home is a Made-Up Place, winner of the Eludia Award for Fiction. She is the Creative Nonfiction Editor at The Citron Review and teaches memoir independently and at a range of venues including University of Washington Continuum, Roundtable by the 92nd Street Y, and the Larry McMurtry Literary Center. She is the host of Let's Talk Memoir, a podcast and Substack featuring hundreds of interviews with memoirists and writing luminaries like Melissa Febos, Paul Lisicky, and Maggie Smith.
