Anain Shaikh is an illustrator and communication designer based in Karachi, Pakistan. She graduated from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture with a major in Design and a minor in Illustration. She’s illustrated and created a comic book series titled Basila and the Street Crew and a children’s book titled Basking in my Brown.
She’s passionate about creating stories with a message and teaching children important values through illustration. Her style is whimsical and colorful and she loves drawing detailed environments. From clay sculptures to painting to digital art and even embroidery, Anain loves exploring new forms of art and is always on the lookout to incorporate new techniques in her work.
She loves reading and has too many books to count. She’s a big fan of indie comics and “Art of” books. Her room is filled with books and posters and you can often find her drawing her latest ideas on her desk with her cat, Smoll, and a cup of coffee always by her side.
