Dee Knabb

From Bar Harbor, ME to Key West, FL, Dee moved frequently growing up, landing most of the time along the ocean coastline. She loved each new school and enjoyed learning, reading, creating art and making friends.
With a background in art history, elementary education and educational leadership, she found a home in elementary classrooms, teaching children and later, coaching teachers. She wanted to share
the magic of books and reading so children would find the same joy she did in those. Her classroom experience inspired her to write for children. She jumped into the kidlit community to start this new
chapter and and is so glad she did.

Dee writes across genres — fiction and nonfiction picture books and chapter books, plus middle grade and young adult. Her interests range from science to social studies, conservation to environmental
changes, history and the people who’ve contributed to the world, and the social emotional challenges children find tough. Her first published book, Teens Dealing with Adversity, TEENS DEALING WITH ONLINE
BULLYING, 2025 was written to help kids navigate pitfalls of the
internet and help them spot dangers.

She and her husband live in south Florida where they love to travel, take field trips to interesting sites like turtle hospitals, the space coast
and wildlife sanctuaries. She volunteers with Project Perch, a
burrowing owl conservation group in the area.
