Jessica Milo

Jessica Milo is a former preschool French teacher and is now a full-time picture book writer. She received her bachelor’s degree in French Studies from CSU Sacramento and taught French in after-school programs and French immersion schools for ten years. She left teaching in 2021 to focus on her other passion: writing humorous and heartfelt children’s books.

After university, she and her husband lived in the Auvergne region of France for eight months while she taught English in elementary schools. Her favorite places they traveled to were Barcelona, Rome, Bologna, Paris, Marseille, and the Alsace region.
An active member of SCBWI and Julie Hedlund’s 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, Jessica is also a Children’s Book Academy and Renee LaTulippe’s Lyrical Language Lab graduate. She is a 2022 #KidLitVibes Twitter Contest Winner and participates in the Courage to Create community.

Jessica resides in Portland, Oregon with her wonderful husband and their two cuddly cats (whom she talks to incessantly). She can be found reading, writing, hiking, playing video games and art junk journaling. Jessica hopes to one day build a marvelous catio, visit and volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, and do more international traveling.
