Ernest Chambers

In a long career as writer, producer, and VP for TV and Film for Merv Griffin Entertainment, Ernest Chambers has produced, written or supervised over 1,000 hours of television, including 50 Specials, 8 series, 3 talk shows, 4 TV movies, one feature film and one stage musical. He has been nominated 11 times for an Emmy and 4 times for The Writers Guild Award. His productions have had 51 Emmy nominations.

His credits include the landmark “Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour”, the long-running syndicated series, “Dance Fever”, “The Danny Kaye Show”, “The Dick Van Dyke Show”, the “Dennis The Menace” feature film, “The Merv Griffin Show”. and Specials starring Sid Caesar, Frank Sinatra, Carol Channing, Alan King, Doris Day and Barry Manilow.

His memoir, “50 YEARS AMONG THE STARS—Cautionary True Tales From The Hollywood Killing Fields” is a treasury of behind-the-scenes stories about the many stars he has worked with as well as a guide to how to succeed and survive in Television.

He recently published a picture book for pre-schoolers “SMELVIS, THE TWO-SCENT SKUNK.”

He has homes in Los Angeles and The Dordogne region of France and carries three passports- US. Ireland and Switzerland.
