Allison Rozo is a picture book author and artist who creates joyful stories that celebrate family, culture, and imagination. Raised in Orrville, Ohio, she spent 16 years in Chicago before returning to Ohio with her family.

Together with her husband, Rafael, a Colombian native, Allison writes bilingual picture books in English and Spanish inspired by their two children and their blended cultures. She also writes stories in English that spark imagination and laughter for young readers. Their books include DIEGO FUEGO THE FIREFIGHTING DRAGON (Penguin Workshop '25) and UNIQUE LIKE YOU (Beaming Books '25).

Allison began her creative journey as an illustrator before discovering her love for storytelling. She holds a BFA in Art History from Miami University and has studied graphic design and paralegal studies. Before pursuing children’s literature, she worked as a litigation paralegal, where courtroom drama often felt like storytelling in action.

When she’s not writing or illustrating, Allison enjoys doodling with her children, volunteering in school libraries, and creating art from reusable materials.
