Cait is a 2025 PBParty Showcase Finalist for her picture book Growing Up Blueberry, about a beloved family blueberry farm in Vermont. A geologist by training, with a Master’s from San Diego State University, she spent a decade working in carbon sequestration, earthquake hazards, and environmental cleanups. These days, she channels her love of the natural world into kidlit stories rooted in kindness, community, with environmental themes.
Cait is an SCBWI and Inked Voices member and hones her craft in three wonderful critique groups (CPs are the best). Though a Vermonter at heart, she now lives in New York’s Finger Lakes area with her husband, two kids, too many rocks, and a stash of milk chocolate.
When not writing or mom-ing, Cait chairs her county’s Environmental Management Council, serves on her town’s sustainability and conservation committee, and leads an annual Earth Day cleanup. She’s often found bent over a spreadsheet, jigsaw puzzle, or weeding in the garden. She enjoys tea in the morning and a drink in the evening. Give her a lake, some milk chocolate and a rock, and she’s in her happy place.
