Cathy Castelli is a middle grade writer with a love of reading and writing mysteries. She was born and raised in La Salle, IL, an area she likes to revisit in her writing.

After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in public speaking, Cathy moved to South Florida to teach acting, debate, and English. Her love of libraries led her to a Master's Degree in Library Science. She is a National Board Certified media specialist. Cathy is currently a high school/college media specialist where she loves to match books to readers. Her school library was recently named a Florida Power Library school.

Cathy is a member of SCBWI and was selected for the SCBWI Nevada Mentoring Program in 2014. She also received two Rising Kite Awards from Florida SCBWI.

When not concentrating on all things book related, Cathy enjoys hot yoga, sewing, and spending time with her husband and teenage son especially if that time is spent at Disney.
