Curtis John O’Brien King is a Bajan-American writer born in the city of New York and raised on the colorful island of Barbados. Upon returning to the United States in his early twenties, Curtis established work as a production assistant on the sets of music videos and movies for some of today's leading musicians and actors. The filmmaking environment would spark an interest in screenwriting which later flourished into a love for writing children's books. Curtis now resides in Florida, where the co-parenting of his five kids also lends a hand in developing his picture books and middle grade novel adventures. He also enjoys songwriting and singing, steadily polishing his creative pursuits while professionally working for the last eighteen years as a licensed massage therapist.

Curtis is a current member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
