Everett De Morier is an award-winning author, playwright, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker and humorist. De Morier's novel Thirty-three Cecils, won the top fiction prize at The London Book Festival, became required high school reading, and is currently in development as a major motion picture with Sunset River Productions. Filming will begin in the summer of 2022 with a 2023 release date. This film has an all-star cast including Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman. De Morier along with Brian Esquivel wrote the screenplay for the film.
De Morier has written for 543 Magazine, and his best-of articles were compiled into a book entitled The Invention of Everything: Insights on Life, Food, and One Good Thermos, which was released in 2018 by Blydyn Square Books.
The film footage of this book tour was also used for the documentary Binghamton: Valley of Creativity, which was produced by The Broome County Arts League and 543 Magazine. It premiered at The Bundy Museum Theatre in 2019. De Morier wrote the script for this documentary and helped direct it.
De Morier was born in Binghamton, New York, and currently lives in Dover, Delaware, with his family. There, he enjoys Lost in Space reruns and getting out of putting miniblinds up.
