Playing with words has always been part of Hollie’s life…from winning Boggle as a kid to
earning her master’s degree in journalism to working in corporate communications. So it wasn’t surprising when she added writing picture books to the list after becoming a mom. A decade later, she continues making stories to inspire, enlighten, and entertain both kids and the grownups reading to them.

Hollie has honed her craft through SCBWI, the 12x12 Challenge, and The Writing Barn. She won first place in the 2023 Kids’ Choice Kidlit Writing Contest, where kids are the judges, and has placed in several other kidlit contests. Since 2021, she has hosted #FirstDraftFriday, a monthly event on Twitter and her blog that encourages and supports other authors.

Hollie lives in Maine with her family and a cat who tries her patience but makes up for it with snuggles. She enjoys doing Crossfit (poorly) and reading (well). Hollie is thrilled to be
represented by Joyce Sweeney.
