Khushboo Patel grew up in Baroda (a not-so-small city in India), earned a law degree in Mumbai and a master’s degree at Oxford University, moved to Florida to marry her childhood friend, gave up her law career, started a business, and sold it a few years ago to start her two forever adventures – motherhood and writing for children - where she oscillates between finding and losing herself.

She writes emotional picture books filled with lyricism and heart and aspires to one day finish writing the novel of her heart. The desire for a more empathetic world informs and underlines everything she writes.

She likes all books but loves lyrical picture books and coming-of-age stories about ‘ordinary’ people.

Being an author has been a childhood dream and she’s thrilled to be pursuing it with Joyce Sweeney by her side.
