A Minnesota native, Maggie Lauren Brown graduated from the U of M – Twin Cities, specializing in Political Science and Creative Writing. She then, logically, chose beluga whales as coworkers, performing as a professional synchronized swimmer at SeaWorld in San Antonio, followed by her role in the acrobatic show, Le Reve, at the Wynn in Las Vegas. After that, Maggie elevated her performing skills to cater to the demanding audiences of her elementary and high school English students, to whom she read the most captivating novels she could find. Now, Maggie’s current starring role of “Mama” is perhaps the most important of all.
Maggie lives in The Woodlands, Texas, where she writes books for kids. Her debut picture book, JOY THE PANDACORN, released in 2020; her next picture book, THE POSTCARD PROJECT, releases in 2023. Maggie hopes to keep readers on the edges of their seats with her middle grade horror novels next.
