Nelly Nuñez was born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles. One of her very first jobs was working in an after-school program, where she fell in love with helping children and families. She earned a B.A in Child and Adolescent Development from CSU-Northridge. Nelly spent most of her career in the classroom, nurturing children's love of learning and sparking an interest in literacy. That is how she fell in love with picture books.

Nelly now lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and daughter. She was an Early Childhood Specialist before entering the realm of motherhood. No amount of education and experience would prepare her for the love and worry that comes with raising her own. Becoming a mother sparked the creativity and courage to pursue her dream of writing for children. Nelly hopes to spread smiles, touch hearts, and fill bookshelves with love and joy.
