Kristina Denadic

Kristina began her creative career in theater as a costume design student—her love for telling stories and drawing first took her there. This journey later became the cornerstone of her approach to children's books. She holds a BA in Costume Design and Fine Arts from the University of Arts in Belgrade, and in addition to publishing, she has also worked as a character and concept designer in film, animation, and video games.

Over the years, her passion for blending multiple artistic disciplines led her to a single medium: children’s books. She treats each book like a tiny theater stage, breaking the fourth wall to engage young audiences. She loves illustrating expressive and layered scenes with cinematic elements, combining humour, tension, and dreaminess.

In pajamas, you’ll often find her tending to her plants or building mini terrariums. Fiction, postmodernism, and neosymbolism are her favorite genres. Often traveling for work and fun (they say it’s a Sagittarius thing!), she’s fascinated by the variety in different cultures’ traditions and legacies - especially when exploring ethnographic museums and castles. Interested in mental and spiritual well-being and children's development, she is currently in an educational program for integrative body-oriented psychotherapy.
