Ross Morgan

Ross Morgan is an award-winning fine artist and illustrator from South Australia. He graduated in 2000 from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Visual Arts. Ross’s vision is to find light in the darkness, creating artworks that are both beautiful and meaningful. His paintings and drawings are known for their quiet surreal atmosphere and contrasting elements. As a picture book illustrator, he aims to take readers on a visual journey filled with honesty, warmth, and empathy, helping them see the world through a lens of hope and optimism.

In 2019, Ross won the Raising Literacy Australia’s Emerging Writer and Illustrator Mentoring Program, leading to his first picture book, “Molly Moores has a House Like Yours.” He has published several other picture books, including “Glow” and “The Gargoyle,” which won the 2024 Forevability Award. For three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023), Ross was shortlisted for the SCBWI Australian Picture Book Illustrator Award in the emerging illustrator category and was a finalist in the 2025 Picture Book Party Contest. Currently, Ross is working on new book projects and continues to create personal and conceptual artworks.

In his spare time, Ross enjoys composing music, bushwalking, watching films, and spending time with family and friends.
